West End Real Estate
Boston’s West End neighborhood is bordered by the Charles River, North End and Beacon Hill neighborhoods. With a rich and diverse history Boston’s West End neighborhood is a sought after place to call home. It was originally developed as the neighboring North End become over crowded and was originally home to much of Boston’s elite in the late 18th century. Much of the surviving architecture from this era can traced back to Charles Bulfinch, a prominent figure in Boston and Washington D.C. architecture responsible for many Boston landmarks such as the Massachusetts State House and parts of Faneuil Hall. The Bulfinch Triangle historic district located in the West End houses many of his works.
The modern day West End is a mixed-use commercial and residential area anchored by Massachusetts General Hospital. Many of the homes within this neighborhood are mid ranged condominiums and apartments.
